In January, when the clock strikes midnight, a lot of people will make new year resolutions. These resolutions may be accomplished by some, but most will forget about them by mid month. I think anyone can set goals for themselves at anytime of the year, but I think most humans need to see a visual. The same reason we need grocery lists or honey do lists, is the reason we should be seeing our goals on a daily basis. One person can not simply remember everything, no matter how great of a memory they have. All of our lives are busy and are filled with many distractions, its easy to push your goals to the side and just forget them.
Having your goals in front of you when you wake up in the morning and before you go to sleep at night will keep you motivated and on track to succeed. Vision boards do not have to be anything fancy, in fact mine is one I made on my phone. It has 6 simple photos to remind me of what my goals are. I use the app Photofy to create my vision boards and have them for 1 year goals, 5 year goals and 10 year goals. Some over lap each other but they are all reachable. Here is my 1 year goal vision board that you can use as an example.
As you can see these pictures are simple but to me that have huge meaning. Your pictures can be as descriptive as you would like, the only thing they have to do is remind you of your goals.
Some things to consider when creating your own vision board. Your goals should be obtainable, the first one I ever made had a picture of Leonardo Dicaprio and even though i’m sure he has a picture of me on his, i’m already married. Share your vision boards with your spouse or friends, they are great for holding you accountable. Following these few simple steps are sure to have you on the road to success in no time!
What goals do you have? Do you feel that you do well at accomplishing them?
